• Keep Away from Heavy Vegetation: Tree and large shrub roots naturally seek out water sources. If planted too close, roots can crack pipe lines and clog drain field lines.

• Avoid Vehicle & Heavy Equipment Traffic: Driving or parking cars, lawn tractors, or construction equipment over a drain field compacts the soil and crushes buried pipes.

• Mind Surface Runoff: The location should not sit in a natural low point where stormwater collects during heavy rain, as saturated soil cannot accept wastewater from your tank.
